And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal – 1 Samuel 15:33 (KJV).

That is the Focal Scripture of BeHOPEAssured Devotional today.

Samuel was a great man of God. In his days, he served as the king, the Priest and the Prophet. His anointing was unquestionable.

1 Samuel 3:20 says; And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD. None of his words fell to the ground. Yet our Focal Scripture shows him brandishing a sword.

Elijah was a very hot Prophet of God whose anointing was unquestionable. Immediately he called down fire from heaven at Mount Carmel, He ordered that all the prophets of Baal be seized. He brandished his sword and personally slew 450 of them at Brook Kishon (1 Kings 18:22-40).

True prophets are not swordless. In fact, the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God – Eph. 6:17) authenticates the office of a genuine prophet of God.

Dear man of God, and you, child of God; principalities and powers have no respect for grammar, doctrines and dogmas. Let your words and actions be sword (or Word) backed up.

If after prophetically revealing Saul’s lies, which produced Agag, Samuel still needed his sword in the presence of the Lord; if after bringing down fire at Mount Carmel, Elijah still needed to use his sword; there’s no spiritual accomplishment that makes the Word of no relevance to the next phase. When you don’t go swordless, #BeHOPEAssured that demonic insurrections will bow before you.

Declare With Me: The Word of God is my Sword. Today and every other day, I will not go swordless! Amen!
