receiving hand

Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it – 2 Kings 6:7 (KJV).

That is the Focal Scripture of Be HOPEAssured Devotional today.

Elisha rose to the occasion. He cut a tree and cast it into that same spot the axe head fell and the iron began to swim. He was the anointed servant of God. God has performed the miracle through him. Why wouldn’t a spiritual leader be kind enough to pick up the floating axe head for his spiritual son?

Why would he ask the young man to risk his life and jump into the river to collect it? Well, it is in this generation of ‘irresponsible’ followership and Christianity, when the ministry of ministers are judged not based on what God told them but on what society expects of them, that you will hear such questions being asked.

The truth remains that just like the lame man at the Gate called beautiful; many miracles have been completed but some people may require some extra push to rise up and receive theirs. Child of God, be like this son of the Prophet. He saw what God has done and ‘put out his hand, and took it’. May God open your eyes to see your answered prayers so they don’t swim away.

Today, put out your hand and take that job, spouse, breakthrough, blessing, promotion, marriage, child, healing, etc. you’ve been believing God for. If putting out your hand requires making some other efforts like going back to school, reconciling with that estranged person, acquiring a new skill, taking some counseling or rehabilitation sessions, etc. Please do it.

Let Us Pray: Father, open my eyes to see what you have done and what you are doing in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
