In the verse preceding our Focal Scripture, David rejected Saul’s armour when he tried them on saying; “For I have not proved them”. On his way to meet Goliath, he got to the brook and carefully chose five smooth stones. Those stones became part of his crude but proven arsenal.

Child of God, on your way to bring down the giants of opposition standing against your life and destiny; God will always bring you through the path of the Brook of His Word – the Bible. Do not fail to search therein for some smooth stones (verses that swiftly minister to your spirit).

One of such verses is enough to deliver instant victories. The word that will bring down your Goliath is the one you’ve proved; not some borrowed word from someone with which you have no encounter. No Goliath has any immunity against the stone of the Word of God. Choose your stones carefully.

It is good to pray; but do so after gathering the stones of the Word. Remember that prayers made according to the will of God will never return unanswered. The devil may have despised your sling but he doesn’t know the potentials of the fierce smooth stone that’s about to hit him by your hands. Why?

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

Declare With Me: I choose the Word. I choose to walk, work and war with the inexhaustible stones from God’s living Brook. Amen!
